The Me I Want to Be

I'm the me I want to be

I live life on purpose not haphazardly

I live my life by the standards Christ has set for me

Not because I'm forced to

I do this willingly

I'm the me I choose to be

I travel the path that may be unlikely

The path that Christ has set before me

I thought about the end one day before I took another step

And decided that I wanted to be comforted and kept

From slipping, falling, spiraling down to the depths of hell

It's my revelation of Christ those gates shall not prevail

I am the me I want to be 

And at the same time not the me I aspire to be

To be completely like Christ, it's Him I want to be like

So in His presence I'll live and in Him I'll delight
