My Best Friend

I wasn’t there when He gave His sermon on the mount. I didn’t see Him when He was transfigured. I wasn’t there when He cried tears of blood in the garden of Gethsemane. I wasn’t there when He was dragged from one judgment hall to the next. I wasn’t there when they crowned Him with thorns and I wasn’t there at the foot of His cross to hear Him say, “It is finished”!
But I am blessed because I believe and yet do not see. His power from the cross transcends time and space and has found its way to me.  I’ve been born again, forever changed. I do have the earnest of His spirit, an inner witness that assures me that when He appears, I will be like Him. I’ve been comforted through many trials and tribulations. I’ve been miraculously healed. `He has never forsaken me as He has promised not to. When I feel alone and lonely, He is my hope and His strength is unfailing.
He is my very best friend and a best friend He has been to me. I look to the hills from whence cometh my help, for my help cometh from the Lord. He is my salvation, my redeemer and my exceeding great reward. What I don’t receive here in this life, I hope to receive in the next. I’ve put my life in His hands. My reward is with my God. He has made mention of my name. He has made my mouth like a sharpened sword in discernment and skill.  Thank you oh Lord for who you are and the sacrifice you’ve made. In Jesus name.
